March 9, 200916 yr comment_276882 Choke/throttle control? It will make your engine race, just not necessarily faster.Marty Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31105-price-per-pound-contest/?&page=2#findComment-276882 Share on other sites
March 9, 200916 yr comment_276883 Anything made from metal will lose in this contest. A pair of carb needles doesn't weigh much but that's still not good enough. I'd bet that a reproduction air cleaner decal costs more per weight than NOS headlight covers. March 9, 200916 yr comment_276886 My first guess was going to be NOS D hubcaps, based on number of pieces and the price, but I don't think they would make the car any faster. I like the NOS headlight cover guess the best so far, if you count the rings and covers as separate pieces.I agree that Carl's guess of the NOS plastic inspection lid clips win the cost per pound question.-Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31105-price-per-pound-contest/?&page=2#findComment-276886 Share on other sites

March 9, 200916 yr comment_276923 Name the most expensive part (price divided by weight) in your opinion that you can buy for an S30I'm thinking a MoTec M880 EMS with full data acquisition and telemetry, launch control, ABS, traction control, vehicle dynamic control, transmission and clutch control, electronic rear differential control, full Lamda CAN bus measurement, digital dash/HUD, and more. Probably 10 lbs of hardware and software for over $24,000.What do I win? March 9, 200916 yr comment_276926 What if I tape this ridiculous Iphone (costing $2.5 million) to the dash? Does that count? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31105-price-per-pound-contest/?&page=2#findComment-276926 Share on other sites
March 9, 200916 yr Author comment_276927 I not saying it can't be made to work in an S30 but did you take into account all the necessary ancillary parts to do so (abs brakes, controller, tranny, etc.)? March 10, 200916 yr comment_276957 I tried to modify my hint by saying that it would make my S30 a (very) little bit fasterGlad I could brighten up your day in some small way.....Based on these clues, I've gotta go with OEM headlight covers and trim. March 10, 200916 yr comment_276975 The most expensive part you can buy is a complete carbon-fiber body. What? :bulb: No one has built one yet?!?!If you need me, I shalt be DOWN IN THE LAB!!!! March 10, 200916 yr comment_276978 I think Mr Camouflage came up with the answer John was looking for in post #2, even if other parts can be found that are more expensive per lb. If that ain't it...I'm stumped! So I guess, for lack of better answers, I'm nodding my head up and down in agreement with "OEM headlight covers" for the first question and MikeW's "decal" suggestion for the second.
