Posted March 11, 200916 yr comment_277050 first fuel lines. on the 280z theres three lines the 240 only has 2. so im not sure what to do with the 3rd line. the fuel filter has one in and one out. so i know that one from tank-pump-filter= main fuel line. than i guess the second is a return fuel line? which one would that connect to? and what the heck do i do with the 3rd one? on carb fuel rail setup they're two fuel lines. i guess one is a main fuel line and the other is a return hose? i numbered the pipes to make explaination easier. Second. i forgot to take mental note of what went where. i was losing daylight and wanted the weber carbs out fast so i can clean them during the night. also if any of you are interested in the progress here is a link to my Blog http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3072832 Edited March 11, 200916 yr by overdrivex Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31120-fuel-lines-and-coolent-hose-connections/ Share on other sites

March 11, 200916 yr comment_277091 You can start by looking at this http://www.xenons30.com/files/FSM/1978%20280z%20FSM.zip or wait until one knowing the 280Z chimes in.Chris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31120-fuel-lines-and-coolent-hose-connections/#findComment-277091 Share on other sites
March 11, 200916 yr Author comment_277098 actually that is useful but not in this case since the 280z didnt come with carbs originally. and the coolant hoses are associated with the carbs. and the problem with the fuel lines iw more of what to do with the 3rd fuel/return or vacuum line that goes to the tank. March 11, 200916 yr comment_277109 This is what i would do:Study the manual, find out witch hose that goes where and then probably have the answer, can't help you more than that.Chris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31120-fuel-lines-and-coolent-hose-connections/#findComment-277109 Share on other sites
March 11, 200916 yr Author comment_277117 i read into some more and i've decided im probably gonna just have to cap it off. unless some one can chime in on what to do with the 3rd line. the connection are non existent on the carb system. i guess i can just install the carbon filter and plug the 3rd line into that, but it still leaves me with what to connect the carbon filter to. the carbon fileter connects to a bunch of vacum lines on the fuel inj. manifold. March 13, 200916 yr comment_277364 I went to NAPA and they did me good on the 240Z fuel line search....I was originally inspired to write on the initial quote: "280z theres three lines the 240 only has 2"My 240Z had three lines: Fuel Supply, Fuel return. and some imaginary fuel vapor recovery anti pollution bull $^!#.... Opps... pardon me...JayNot just a Z - zdisease Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31120-fuel-lines-and-coolent-hose-connections/#findComment-277364 Share on other sites
