18 in wheels?

I would like to put 18 x8" wheels on my 77 Z in a newer style . has anybody done it? The largest i`ve seen is 17x7" is it possible? Do I need to get 5 lug adapters?

Keep the tire diameter under 25". You'll be looking at a 215 to 225 width with a 35 profile.

For the vast majority of wheels you'll need adapters yes. You're also going to have to find wheels with the correct offset (most big flashy wheels today are very offset because thats how the newer imports are), the Zs don't typically have much offset in their wheels. And you may still have to do something like roll your wheel wells.

thanks, i figured i would need to roll the fender wells. i just aquired this car and have wanted a z for years. my friend had a 78Z back in 1980 -82 he had done a few little things to the engine and had dunlop 50 series all the way around. That car ate corvettes for breakfast and anything else for lunch! Its STILL the fastest car[150+ easily] i`ve ever been in... and i`ve been in and owned a few!

This going to be a fun restoration. Thanks for the input guys
