March 16, 200916 yr comment_277709 John, the point that I believe Enigma was trying to make is that your engine may be one of those that has the notch plate on the driver side, and that you don't need one for the passenger side. Note Arne's post regarding the three engines he's dealt with (#5) Set your timing using the notch plate you've got, and go from there. March 17, 200916 yr comment_277788 John, the point that I believe Enigma was trying to make is that your engine may be one of those that has the notch plate on Actually the link was simply a pointer to a thread that contained relevant information, and was meant to avoid continuing yet another redundant thread. Now that we have a little more info, it sounds like you're using an older pulley on a newer engine (some speculation here) and probably do need the right side pointer. No idea where to get one but ebay is always a good place to look as was pointed out above. March 17, 200916 yr comment_277834 John, take off the crankshaft pulley bolt, you don't have to take off the pulley, the key notch shall point straight up towards the head cover, now you have TDC, if the marks on the pulley don't match up with the marker then make your own TCD mark, remember to touqe the bolt 86 - 116 lb-ft.Chris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31176-timeing-marker/#findComment-277834 Share on other sites
