opinion on rota rb 16x7

i was considering buying rota rb 16x7 rims but i wanted feedback on them. I was hoping i could get others personal experience with this brand of wheels or experiences of others they know with these wheels. thank you in advance

Rota has become a staple in import wheels. They are usually knock offs of an original design. In this case its Panasports or Minilites. In the subaru world they copy Works, Volks, Prodrive's, etc. Many people have used them for all sorts of things, and for the most part, they are good wheels. They do not crack easily, the finish lasts, and they are reasonably light.

I finally got to the point last week and proceeded to pull the trigger on some 16x7, +4 offset, silver with polished lip. I checked almost everywhere in the US. Couldn't find them anywhere:mad:. Many said it looked like there was a set somewhere at Rota USA, but no one could find them, or the current inventory was incorrect. I cannot get a definite ETA. I'm by no means bashing them. I have never heard any complaints. I hope you are looking for slightly different ones. Obviously, I love the look. What are you getting? If you find the ones I'm looking for, let me know.

i called and couldn't find any in any size.. so i gave up on those for now and have been searching for alternatives. i finally found a company, Centerline wheels, that has several different models of rims they claim direct fit onto a 73 z. Luckily I have a location right near my house so come monday i will stopping in. if what they advertise on net is correct, i will probably go with them depending on price of course.hey adamr is that your orange z. i just bought an orange one two weeks ago. paint is actually pretty good but i was considering restoring the orange or changing to a different color.

Mine have been great. I have 16x7 with 4mm offset in silver with a polished lip. They look great, clean well and look great.

I love my Rota RB-R. But I prefer the look of my 17x8.5 over the 16x7.

I have spoken with Jessica at 18 racing. They might have another set of 16x7 silver +4 coming next week. She says mine are definitely on their way-I paid by Paypal.

Hey srbigbutt, what tires do you run with those and do you have any problems with rubbing. and i have to agree with adamr they do look really good. nice!! I actually ended up picking up a set of 16x8 enkei's that look pretty good on the car.bought them used for relatively cheap so i might hold on to them for a while until i find the right set of rims that i like.

Thanks Adamr. I also got mine at 18racing.com. They even through in some free lug nuts. For the money, they are a great wheel.

I run 225x45 all around. They are a pretty tight fit, but they fit! No rubbing in the front at all. The rear rubs a little in big dips on the road. I beleive when I roll my fenders it will probably not rub anymore. Stiffer shocks and springs helped a lot with rubbing. Also removing the 280z bumper helped quite a bit!

16 X7, +4's. They are better looking than I expected. Yahoo!! LOLLOLI'm excited about getting the tires and Eibach lowering springs. My concern is that, when measuring straight upward from the outside of the wheel, that "imaginary" line continues and is exactly even with the inside of the wheel well lip. This leads me to infer that a tire which is any wider than the wheel might rub:ermm:. However, as the suspension is compressed, the upward movement actually occurs on an axis, and the top rotates inward slightly:rolleyes:. Is a 215/50 tire wider than the 7" width of the wheel? I'd like to go with that, though I was originally thinking of going with 205/50s. Arne?

I plan on posting pics of the car next week, before and after the springs go on.

I was intending to fit 16x7 RB's all round but due to a mix up in stock count by the supplier he offered me 2 16x7 and 2 16x8 for the rear for the same price. They have +4mm offset. The rears were RB-R's which have the bigger dish.

I fitted Toyo R1-R tyres, 205/55 front and 225/50 on the rear. The rear rubbed ever so slightly on big dips. Yesterday I had the rear guards rolled but have not yet fully tested it.

I tried the 16x7's on the rear with the 205/55 tyres and no problems at all.

For the money I think they are good value, can't comment yet on toughness etc., but I think they look great.
