Posted September 27, 200222 yr comment_16317 You probably going to laugh but I can't find a Gas Cap??? Don't anyone make these any more? I failed California smog emission because of my gas cap! When I went to the local auto parts store to buy one Stant (the leading maker of gas caps) didn't make one. I have looked online extensively yet have yet to find a gas cap for my 280z. Well, I take that back-I have yet to find one for less then @ $50. It is ridiculous to pay that much for a cap. Please tell me someone knows where to find one in a more reasonable price range. Any cap from 70-76 will fit. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/3133-gas-cap/ Share on other sites

September 27, 200222 yr comment_16337 Give me a day or two to go check out the two parts cars. Might be able to come up with one or two used ones. One is a 74 and the other is a 76. September 27, 200222 yr comment_16350 Keith, old buddy, old pal...as long as you're going looking amongst the bee and snake ridden Z cars, would u take along a short phillips screwdriver & see about the fuel gauge from that 74?? I'd make it worth your while:classic: Thanks- if it's not cold enough yet, i can wait... time for most Z's here in NY to begin to hibernate anyway:cry: JA Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/3133-gas-cap/#findComment-16350 Share on other sites
September 27, 200222 yr comment_16354 That would be extreemly nice of you is there something that I can trade you for one ? How about a 1/4 pannel vent that has the 240 on it for a '70 , could you use one of those ? I am into it $22.00 and I have a '73 . It was described as a hatch emblem that said 240 . September 30, 200222 yr Author comment_16462 I guess I will just have to pay the Nissan Dealership price on this :stupid: After shipping and handling it costs less then Motorsports. And then I do need to pass that smog in a couple of days or get an renewal on my 30 day "get it fixed or non-op it" registration. Thanks anyways.
