overdrivex Posted March 31, 2009 Share #1 Posted March 31, 2009 (edited) after thinking. i donti have a official build thread for me. until now =D The donor car. salvage title and out of state. floor boards where gone and interior was infested with rats. the car had more rust than i wanted to deal with it even smell seemed deadly. than a 280z popped up for sale and it was in pretty good shape for only 100bux. clean title and pretty rust free. some goodies that i got for the car some of the work thus far. =Enigma= Posted March 31, 2009 Share #3 Posted March 31, 2009 That 280Z body looks like a good find, especially for $100! A much better starting point than a rat infested 280ZX.

sblake01 Posted March 31, 2009 Share #7 Posted March 31, 2009 What type of material/substance is that you used on the dash?
overdrivex Posted March 31, 2009 Author Share #8 Posted March 31, 2009 the blue stuff is just soft styrofoam. than i used body filler to full the cracks and the missing chunk. the filler came in a blue canister its suppose to be half the weight of bondo. after that i put a layer of woven fiberglass to make sure the cracks dont reform. i dont like the vinyl paint though its way to glossy. thought it tone down once it dried but it barely did. =Enigma= Posted March 31, 2009 Share #9 Posted March 31, 2009 I don't know if you've seen this post on dash repair already, but there are some good product recommendations judging by the the end results.http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23919
