August 17, 201212 yr comment_398998 When mine broke, I put the pasenger side of the car on a curb, crawled under and pushed the release with my finger. You get a clear shot at it from the pasenger side, no problem. I should add however, I have a 32" reach. As a fix, I bought a cable end with a set screw from a local bike shop, trimed the cable jacket back an inch and hooked everything back up. Worked like a champ, cost less than a buck. September 5, 201212 yr comment_400716 Rite at the latch, less than 1 inch from the cable perch. these are the cable ends with a set screw, I bought a couple extras just to have on hand. Good to have spare McGuiver goodies when you drive a 40 year old car.
