i need to get my turn signals working ASAP

i've been taking out my center console, AC controls and center vent finisher, prior to which my turn signals were fully functional. i forgot that my Z club meets tomorrow, and i need to get the turn signals working again so i can drive it over. i thought that plugging the hazard lights switch back in would do it, but it only makes it so i can turn on the hazards. what else do the signals run through that i should plug back in? the only peripherals that i unplugged were the hazard switch, defogger switch, heater fan control, AC control lamp, blower motor, and radio.

My signals didn't work until I plugged in the hazard switch and changed the fuses. My car is the same as yours, 76 280z automatic (good choice!).

After I plugged the hazards in, they worked. Just make sure everything in the console are is plugged in.

Make sure you plugged the RIGHT connector into the hazards, there were 2 similar ones on mine!

HTH, Good luck

my turn signals also have issues. i found that the system for the hazzards isnt turned off at the right moment the turn signals dont work.

(i do have odd electrical issues and it is also a 76 280z)

when it happens that i need hazzards i use them. to fix, signal right or left, then turn the hazards on and of patiently. eventually i get to the point it works again.

I suspect the relay...

hope this helps

I've got the same thing on my '76 ... strange coincidence ... and I even have a brand new turn signal relay! ... maybe it's the hazard light relay?

To get mine to work I'll quickly turn the hazards on and off, then try signaling ... and I'll repeat this over and over again until it'll let me use the turn signals.

i got mine working, finally. if i were you, i'd inspect the connector for the hazard switch. try plugging it in and disconnecting it a few times. oh, and actually start the car before testing the signals. they don't come on with the rest of the lights unless the car is on.
