Posted April 10, 200916 yr comment_280411 I just bought a 71 240 with fender flares. currently it has Mirada (Yokahama) P215/60R14s on it, not sure of the rim width, at least 6 I would assume. I still have plenty of room to fill that rear flare (out) and I'm wondering if I could fit P245/60R14s on the rear. My concern is inner room not outer. I would keep the 215s on the front. If so I will go with a set of Konig Rewind Silver 14x7 all around http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/WWC001H/25-1059 2nd question, purists don't hate me, is there a way to adapt the Z 4 lug to handle the following wheels?..... http://www.roadwheels.us/14crssformov.html thanks in advance for all thoughts/opinions Ken B. this is current set up Edited April 10, 200916 yr by Ken B. April 10, 200916 yr comment_280412 Take a peek under the rear to see how much room you have between the tire sidewall and the springs. To go from 215 to 245 you'll need at least 3/4" clearance to the side, and probably a 1/2" upwards. Konigs have -9 offset, that will help on the side clearance. You could have adapters custom built to take those Cragers, but they'll be expensive and custom. Cheaper to find a set with the more normal 5-4 1/2 bolt pattern. Adapters for that could be purchased off the shelf. But adapters will add 25 mm negative offset, which is a lot.You could also convert your hubs to 5 lug so you could run similar Cragers. That would be the best option. April 11, 200916 yr Author comment_280413 thanks Arne, I was hoping you'd respond. If I want the Cragars S/S type wheel sounds simplest to convert to 5 lug, shes in the shop down in Alabama right now, I could talk to them about that - is it typically an expensive way to go? Or that's what I've seen. Others may have more experience with this and should chime in.
