LowCarbZ Posted April 13, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 13, 2009 Anyone had any success finding a Canadian supplier for Z car parts? I've been dealing with Motorsport out of California for most of it and I don't mind paying shipping and duties on larger orders from the states when it's one stop shopping and worth my while, but for smaller stuff i'd like to find someone this side of the imaginary line if possible. I'm in Ontario if anybody's got a lead....
Zak's Z Posted April 13, 2009 Share #2 Posted April 13, 2009 (edited) Hey, Theres Charlie Osborne in Kingston. I've ordered some stuff from him and can say he's legit. He does take a few days to reply sometimes. Heres his website:http://www.datsunzparts.com/If you have access to the fiche you can get part numbers for most things and try your Nissan Dealership. I think TransCanada Nissan is by you, I remember seeing it a few weeks ago when I was up there. I've had luck with a few odds and ends from Nissan. zKars Posted April 13, 2009 Share #4 Posted April 13, 2009 Well there are only a few "commercial" parts suppliers in Canuck land, but most are a bit of a specialty supplier. All of these guys are on the west coast in and around Vancouver.www.zeddsaver.com/ (Norm - Restoration parts)www.modern-motorsports.com (Ross - Custom performance parts)www.new-datsun-parts.com (no experience)You've heard about Charlie now (above). Depends on what you're looking for, you can always place a want to buy ad. There are plenty of active z owners with used parts in Canada too.Anybody know of anyone else?Jim
bigoak Posted April 13, 2009 Share #5 Posted April 13, 2009 The guy near Montreal is a tear-down operations for used parts. He lists on E-bay but you can deal directly with him (especially as I'm 3 miles down the road from him). Also you can work through Whitehead in Toronto. They usually have a good bead on where to find parts (and you never know what they have lying around in their shop racks). Check out the shop at the Swap meet this week.Cheers,
260zCaliCar Posted April 13, 2009 Share #6 Posted April 13, 2009 Sadly, you may want to think twice before ordering anything from Norm at Zeddsaver. I ordered some stuff from him last August, he had a million excuses why he couldn't fill the order AFTER I paid him. Then in January he said he would substitute the parts for others that I really didn't need. I never got those either. Now, unless I am wrong (please let me know if I am), nobody has heard from him since January. Honestly, he is a nice friendly guy, and I hope he is okay. But this is my business experience with him. If I am lucky, this post will find it's way to him and he will let us all know that he's okay.
