Posted April 23, 200916 yr comment_281471 Now that I have drivin the Z for a whole week there are two things that I have noticed and I have some questions about them.#1When I turn the key to the on position all my gauges come on. My fuel gauge goes up and stops. Then when I get moving in the car it continues to raise then stops. Which is the right reading? I would think as a vacuum is created it makes the gauge raise after I start driving it. Idk???#2At about 50 mph the shifter on my auto trany starts to shake pretty bad. Is there something loose? April 23, 200916 yr comment_281474 The vaccum has nothing to do with the electric fuel gauge. Just remember the the fuel gauges are slow to respond, so as the vehicle moves, the needle will respond accordingly. Both of my Z's do the same thing, and so does my mini van. On the Z's, the more left turns and uphill drives that you do, the higher the reading, as the sender is on the right side of the tank.It also sounds like the trani mounts are tired or loose. And the motor mounts are also likely the cause. Wheel vibration can be transfered to the motor and trani just as easy. When's the last time the wheels were ballanced?Dave Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31611-two-areas-of-concern/#findComment-281474 Share on other sites
April 23, 200916 yr comment_281514 Great suggestions Dave. Is it also possible that the tranny shake could be attributed to worn u-joints in either the drive shaft or half-shafts? More curious than anything. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31611-two-areas-of-concern/#findComment-281514 Share on other sites
