Clutch throw out bearing replacement

Hope this isnt to late but here's how I do them. Open your vise jaws wide enough to rest TOB on jaws with collar below. Find a socket that will fit inside bearing and rest on collar.(22 or 23mm IIRC) Tap with hammer. I've never found these to be very tightly pressed. After it comes apart, place collar and new bearing in jaws of vise and crank. You'll be suprised how easily it goes together!

Yeah if you watch a machine shop do this, you will be blown away how easy it is. I made a piece that holds it out of the shop vac tube extension. I cut away two sections on each side for the ears to sit on. Then knocked it out with a large socket.

Yep. This is how I do it as well. You need to be careful when pressing the new bearing on though. You can't really crank it down once the bearing seats itself otherwise you'll destroy the bearing.
