I took my vintage 240Z to Summit Point last weekend to a SCCA race to run in EP. Here's some in car video of the first few laps so you can get a feel for going around Summit. Finished 2nd in EP. FYI I have both Datsun and Nissan logos just to cover everything.

Nice Mike. Car looks and sounds great. The shot I got of your car last year at VIR is still one of my favs. I hope to see you out there soon. BTW Greg Ira dropped the VIR EP track record to 2:06.3 last weekend!

Hi Mark, Thanks. Yes, I heard that Greg was really smokin' at the National. That's great. If my car checks out OK I will probably be there for the SARC/MARRS double in a couple weeks. After that I'll convert it back to vintage specs and plan on the Gold Cup. So if things go well, I should see you at VIR soon.

Perhaps a subject for another thread - but what specific camera etc do you have mounted? I've been looking at different options.

BTW - You can drop the NISSAN logos/advertising - they don't pay the contingency money to the customers here in the U.S. that race their cars any longer.:stupid: I think that the contingency money, very small support that it was; and the Competition Dept staying open - was really the main reason one would see a Datsun 240-Z here in the States with NISSAN advertising.

Mike, When is the Gold Cup at VIR?

Hi Carl,

You are correct, the Nissan logo was there because of the old Motorsports program. Discounted parts were worth more than the contingency and required the logos. Camera is VIO brand POV.1. It's a remote lipstick camera with a small digital recorder that uses camera style media cards. That was my first time using it.

Mark, SVRA Gold Cup at VIR is June 5-7.
