Modified VZ car on eBay

Hi Joel:

da... I should have remember that. Actually I should have bought that car myself when Randy decided to sell it.

A very nicely refreshed 240-Z, it was easy to understand how it was mistaken for a VZ when sitting beside the VZ's that Nissan had in their warehouse. That mistake however simply makes for a 240-Z with a more than average story to tell.

So have you got it out and enjoyed it on the weekends? You'll have to Post some pictures in your User Gallery...

FWIW,

Carl B.

Carl,

I just took it out for a spin last weekend but just around the neighborhood. I have some pics in my user gallery that I took last year.

It's going in the shop soon for some minor things but I'll be driving it very soon on warm days. We just had the street sweepers come throught the neighborhood last week and I didn't want her to touch those nasty roads until then but it should be fine now.

Thanks again for the help and advice last year when I found the car. I don't post alot but do keep up with the forums especially during "Z season."

I would have loved to have kept the Lime Z, but did not have any room for her at the house :( I wanted to make sure she went to a good home, and I am confident that she did with JoelH! Who could complain when he insists the street cleaners come and make the street clean before he will take her our for a drive?! ;)

Joel,

I looked at your car too when Randy was selling it. I've always wanted a lime green car. I know I'll get one someday. Yes Carl, I know I should have bought Randy's VZ!

Anyway Joel, I believe your car was owned by the President of Nissan North America at one time. He was going to have it restored in the VZ program. Prior to that, I recall it was owned by an Admiral that shipped it out of the country and then shipped it back when he returned. Or at least it made a good story at the time!

As far as the modified VZ on ebay goes...OUCH! As a former VZ owner, it breaks my heart that someone would do that to a VZ. Also, I can confirm that most of the VZ's have some defects. For the most part, they were not perfect cars, although I've seen a couple that were really close!
