Posted April 26, 200915 yr comment_281775 Hi guys,Finally got my carbs balanced (72 240 with SU's) but I can't seem to get a smooth idle. Trying for 750-800 rpm and get a rough labored idle, runs perfectly at 950-1000. Have fire to all the plugs, timing doesn't seem to affect it (as in cure the rough idle part). So, any recommendations on what to do?The intake water passages have been bypassed on this (wasn't me), would this cause my condition? I plan on hooking all that back up soon. Thanks,Justin Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31647-rough-idleintake-heat/ Share on other sites
April 26, 200915 yr comment_281776 Do you still have the stock cam or have you upgraded? With my crane street cam mine isn't happy below 900-1000. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31647-rough-idleintake-heat/#findComment-281776 Share on other sites
April 26, 200915 yr comment_281793 If your balance is right on at idle, then check valve adjustment, and check your dizzy for seized up advance plate, adjust your ignition for best vacuum.Chris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31647-rough-idleintake-heat/#findComment-281793 Share on other sites
