Posted May 2, 200915 yr comment_282407 Does anyone have a suggestion for removing the glue beneath the vinyl? I removed the worn-out vinyl from the strut towers--and glue residue is everywhere. Thanks Edited May 2, 200915 yr by Rich1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31718-removing-vinyl-and-glue/ Share on other sites
May 2, 200915 yr comment_282419 It must be from the PO. When I have removed the vinyl from any of 240s I have never found the residue to be any problem. Describe what you have found?? May 2, 200915 yr comment_282438 I used a heat gun to 'soften' the vinyl in mine. I removed every piece of it. Headliner was a problem because pieces of the sponge kept sticking to the roof. After I had some slight glue sticking also mostly on the pillars. I heated it up with the heat gun and used a rag with varsol on it. That worked well. The headliner I just put back on because I wasnt going to clean that.
