Well, it's even more than that. The wrong description is just that, wrong. An AFM meters air flow whille a MAF sensor does just that, senses, no metering, hence the difference in terms. Other functions take place elsewhere as per the differences in the functions of the less sophisticated system vs. the more sophisticated system. Analog vs. digital, if you will, for the sake of comparison. So the 'misunderstanding or misidentified parts' actually takes place the moment you refer to that part by the wrong name.

Correct! Thats why I felt the need to list the correct name. Not just for the original poster but for whoever digs this up later using the search feature. They are indeed totally different parts.

The 53 rd year of the show. He should have taken 2nd but the judges included an exotic in our same class that placed 1st. Z saint took 2nd. Don 3rd.
