Posted May 21, 200915 yr comment_284363 I'm in the process of installing some injectors I purchased on-line. The injectors came off of a 280z and were relatively new. They do not have the fuel line attached as do some I've seen, it was installed by the PO. I have read the FSM and it states that you do not need a clamp on the hose end where the injector is installed just on the end that attaches to the fuel rail. When I received the injectors and fuel rail there were no clamps on the fuel injector ends. I would think that I need a clamp. Your help would be greatly appreciated. PS The injectors have a barbed end. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31937-fuel-injector-installation-question/ Share on other sites

May 22, 200915 yr comment_284384 No clamps needed. If you've ever had to remove that short hose you'd know why. Man those little suckers are TIGHT!! May 22, 200915 yr comment_284400 Correct. Just the end that attaches to the rail needs the clamp. I recommend the orig. factory Nissan Clamps as those don't dig into the rubber hose like the regular standard plain hose clamps do that you get from auto zone, Napa ect. May 22, 200915 yr comment_284463 I went ahead and put clamps on both ends of mine, better safe than on fire. When it comes to the clamps, the chain stores do have clamps specifically designed for fuel lines. However (and this is just my experience) the clerks don't know they have them... When I've looked for them, I usually find them in the same area as the radiator/heater hose fitting supplies. Whatever makes you feel better but like ChrisB77 said, no way will they pop off.Thats why nissan designed it the way they did. Glad to hear your able to find the correct size clamps for the EFI rubber hoses. You got better Auto Stores than I do where your located.
