Hard to find parts. Fuel Damper/Fuel injector gaskets

I bet the parts manager-or the dealership owner would like to know that parts counter guy was giving up gravy business-not much payroll in one short phone call(Vs looking up a part-even in Fast).

As I understand it, dealerships get tier pricing based on volume, and the Parts Manager gets awards for volume because of it. They want the volume even if the counter guy didn't get that message-or doesn't care.

Time to break out your secret weapon...DONUTS !!!...that and find one of the "Old Timers"...if any are still there...couple of Z story's (for the old timer) and you're good to go...couple phone calls to the manager/dealership owner might not be a bad idea either...be amazed what happens when you start talking to somebody's supervisor...asking for first name, last name, badge number, supervisor's name...etc...etc. Have done this several times when dealing with HP tech support... LOL

Thanks for all the input. I'm not actually looking for the seal kit. My car had gaskets on the mounting brackets. I have been told a few people, and very rudely by one guy on another forum, that they were most likely not originally installed and may have been added later to alleviate a heat transfer issue on 75-76 models. Newer brackets are made of plastic therefore the gaskets are unnecessary. I'm just going to get the newer brackets.

Looks like something the PO owner made up...perhaps...looks almost like a heat shield to me...have any idea what they might be made out of?? The metal holders you have will far outlast the plastic holders...plastic holders have been known to crack from the heat...

Watch out there! He's not to receptive to people who have mentioned that very same possibility elsewhere...

The real answer for heat transfer is to either run the plastic holders for insulation, or move to a Pallnet-Style Rail where the injectors float and don't have any (or very little) heat transfer possibility.

I just had to see what great answers he was getting here, he made it sound like someone gave him the answer to his gasket quest...come to find out he got the same answer here 'As there...'

I do have to say here,

My first Z was a '76. I am in the heat belt, and never have had a problem with heat transfer on anything but a '73 240Z.

On my '76, I actually used the aluminum injector mounting hardware because I could polish them up and add some bright work on top of the manifold-still never had a heat transfer problem.

It would be pretty easy to add a 280ZX injector fan to your 280Z. Simple wiring, factory parts, and made to work with an L28 with exactly that issue.
