NOS 240Z Parts on Craigslist

Recommended Posts

Hmmmm.... Seems to be the same ad posted in several different cities with different prices for each city.

http://houston.craigslist.org/pts/1184235476.html

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/pts/1185180492.html

The Houston ad says the location is Dallas, but the Atlanta ad doesn't.

You're right, Mike....very strange. Each ad also has different pictures. The Atlanta ad has far more pics than the other two. The dash and interior door panels look great and it's interesting to see the Nissan part number for the dash, I don't recall seeing that anywhere else before. I know that the interior door panel part numbers have been discussed here in another thread.

Has anyone tried to contact the seller?

This may be the ebay ad that Ron was referring to in this post, where he noted a dash with "CAN" on the barcode and was wondering if that meant the dash came from Canada and if they were still available there.

One of our Canadian members should check that part number with a local dealer and see if they are still available and what the pricing is.

-Mike

Edit: NissanParts.cc shows the price as $919.99. Not sure if it is actually available (at least in the US) or not.

Is the 08/05/13 on the barcode label a specific date (perhaps May 13, 2008?)?

Yeah, that is what I was thinking too. Might explain the increase in "NOS" 72 style dashes I have seen on ebay over the last year or so.

Here is an NOS 240Z dash in my area. I guess $1,100 is a good deal compared to elsewhere.

Yes, at $1,100.00, the price is much better; however, the seller will not ship, only local pick up. Judging from the packaging and the label, this dash looks to have been sitting around for a good number of years.

This does looks suspicious...

$1,100 doesn't sound like a bad deal until you consider that

Dashboard Restorations USA can recover a dash and the console for about that price (not including shipping).

I spoke with someone at the MSA West Coast Nationals who purchased a NOS dash for his car that does not fit right...probably would have been better to have the old dash recovered .

My preference would be to have one restored as well.

Chances of an NOS one showing up for mine are rather thin anyway.
