May 25, 200915 yr comment_284682 You're right, Mike....very strange. Each ad also has different pictures. The Atlanta ad has far more pics than the other two. The dash and interior door panels look great and it's interesting to see the Nissan part number for the dash, I don't recall seeing that anywhere else before. I know that the interior door panel part numbers have been discussed here in another thread. Has anyone tried to contact the seller?I bought some parts from a guy a month or so around the Buford area that said he was selling the second oldest 240 in existance.I don't remember what he was asking but it was way out of my league. He said he had been working on it for years and had been collecting nos parts for years. He had several rooms full of parts still in the boxes. It was like christmas to me.I spent 1700 dollars and only one box full of parts.I saw the dash in the box but I was out of money.I bought cloth hoses, new starter, distributer and a lot of small stuff. He said he had some parts he wanted to see if Jim Fredrick or Carl Beck wanted before he sold a lot of it.I was happy with what I got so it seemed legit to me.I was there for over an hour looking and drooling. May 25, 200915 yr Author comment_284688 I'm sure a lot of you are aware of this this website located in British Columbia. A lot of NOS parts available; however, some parts such as the dashboards are very expensive:http://www.new-datsun-parts.com/datsun-240Z-parts-interior1.html Edited May 25, 200915 yr by lonetreesteve Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31964-nos-240z-parts-on-craigslist/?&page=2#findComment-284688 Share on other sites
May 25, 200915 yr comment_284692 I've ordered from him before, good guy, but by the time you pay his serious markup and shipping...Many of his parts are still available at the dealer, the 280Z console for example($121 at my local dealer), but being in BC, he has access to parts that our USA dealers do not. I don't know what we could offer in exchange, but setting up a club brothership between countries certainly would seem to be a good thing for NOS parts avaibility. It might be worth it to plan a trip and take a shopping list, a credit card, and a Fedex account! Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31964-nos-240z-parts-on-craigslist/?&page=2#findComment-284692 Share on other sites
May 25, 200915 yr comment_284700 I called the local dealer today and he shows none in stock in Canada and the list is $1767.00 cdn. He seemed to think because it still comes up as a valid part number that it could be special ordered from Japan. May 25, 200915 yr comment_284729 So as to keep the focus of this thread, I split the original thread and posted the parts availability search here:http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?p=292794#post292794Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31964-nos-240z-parts-on-craigslist/?&page=2#findComment-284729 Share on other sites
May 26, 200915 yr comment_284768 I just got an email from my dealership guy and he says the part is backorder Japan but still available and the list price is: $1767.24A little out of my price range when I could try the repairs the rest have been doing for a fraction of the cost. May 26, 200915 yr comment_284789 Be VERY cautious of Craigslist. I have had 2 attempted scams on me in the last 2 weeks. If you can't talk to the person directly, NEVER send them any money. If they talk about using an escrow service for both of your "protection" it is probably a scam.Leave it to the scumbags to ruin an otherwise useful tool.Marty Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31964-nos-240z-parts-on-craigslist/?&page=2#findComment-284789 Share on other sites
