Metric speedo overlay

Nice work Jeffrey!

Another option is to find a speedo from a Canadian 77/78 (for sure) 280Z. They already have a factory metric speedo face. Canada went metric in 77 'ish, and this spawned the requirement. I have done this swap to my 240. I also have the tach from the same car, so the fonts match.

Wouldn't some over-seas Z's have metric gauges as well? Would be nice to get a scan of one of those faces. Next time I have mine out I'll do it.

Jim I had asked around a few times if we had any metric speedo's in Canada. I always got the same "no" response. I did manage to get two speedo's from Australia. One with the same font as my 260z. I'm putting it in very soon.

I did this before I found the metric gauges and decided to do a white face as well.

Can you get me a picture of your metric speedo?

In my original european 240Z -72 the gauge goes only up to 240 km/h.

By the way - I have used CorelDraw in my professional work over 20 years and - IMO - it beats Illustrator...

Yes the actual metric guages only go up to 240 km/h. The 160 MPH speedo's converted to metric would go to 260 km/h to keep the same sweep. 160mph x 1.6 km/mile= 258 km/h

I started out with Corel Draw back in the mid 90's. I loved it. Very intuative to use.
