Help needed identifying front brake calipers

Ordered brake pads from Motorsport assuming that my 73 had the original brake calipers. Now being told by mechanic that brake pads are too small for calipers.

No part numbers as far as I can see. They are Sumitomo. Left side has numbers on the outside that are all separated : 2 7 W. Right side has X 6 M and an 84 under that.

Are the calipers floating? Are the mounting tabs on the caliper threaded? Are the discs vented? If any of this is true, it's possible that the calipers are from a 280ZX. See the following threads for more info on possible brake mods that have been done at one point or another.
