Posted May 26, 200915 yr comment_284795 Hi all,I'm looking for a Datsun 240Z for around £6000. I recently was very let down by a garage that sold the one i was going to buy! So, now i have around £6K sitting in the bank and i'm really struggling to find such a good bargain again! I'd really appretiate some help.Matt Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31989-buy-datsun-240z/ Share on other sites
May 26, 200915 yr comment_284796 I wish you luck buddy, but you can do a world of good searching all the local car clubs in the country. Yes I said the entire country. They usually have some of the best examples. I found my Z using the North Carolina Z club web page. Good luck! May 26, 200915 yr comment_284800 I recently was very let down by a garage that sold the one i was going to buy! .MattMatt,I know how you feel. I was too hesitant on the first car I spotted. Then had two other guys sell their cars to a classic car dealer after I made an appointment to see the cars the very next day. In my book, that's somewhat unethical, but it seems to happen fairly often...With persistance, within a couple months I did aquire a nice, rustf free example that I'm currently restoring.Keep looking on this site, Craig's List, eBay, etc. There are always Z's for sale. It's just a matter of timing to find the right one. Good luck with your search! May 26, 200915 yr comment_284804 Matt, Is left hand drive critical to the deal? We'll have a 73 in the "come back together stages" by the owner of Z Therapy, hopefully soon. It keeps getting preempted by other projects. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31989-buy-datsun-240z/#findComment-284804 Share on other sites

May 27, 200915 yr comment_284848 Matt-My recommendation would be (if possible) go and view the car of you choice in person before the purchase. So many of the ebay/craigs listings are not entirely true, it would be cheaper in the long run to know exactly what you are purchasing with your money. You can spend big $$$ on fixing rust and painting that pictures can hide.Good luck, and the old saying "buyer beware" could not hold more true for classic car purchasing.
