Posted October 4, 200222 yr comment_16678 I need a wiring harness for a 1972 240z as mine is fried. Manufacture date is 09/72. I am the original owner and it has over 198,000 miles on it and going for more. I drive it every day to the office and really need it. Does anyone know where I could get a new or used one. October 6, 200222 yr comment_16723 i am parting out a 72 240. it is the victim of at least 1 ny winter and the rust is taking over. good news, only 56,xxx miles. mice moved in a few years ago while it was in a barn while the previous owner was working on other projects. they did some chewing-mostly at the extremedies-marker lights. anyway, the rest seems to be in pretty decent shape. i also have the dash harness as well. i'm not sure what it's worth or how long it would take me to remove it [or even if you need the whole thing or not]. let me know if you're interested.thanks, david Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/3203-wiring-harness-for-1972-240z/#findComment-16723 Share on other sites
October 6, 200222 yr comment_16746 The 72's and the late 71's saw the transition in the wiring harness and console area.Early 71's and 70's had a difference in the wiring harness depending on whether the car was an automatic or manual. The late 71's and 72's added the seat belt warning light as well as the choke on indicator light. I'm not sure about the differences in the harness due to the transmission, but you might check. The Automatic requires a pair of wires going to the kick down switch on the gas pedal. These wires in turn go to the solenoid at the transmission.
