Gremlins?

I have a 1970 Z, number 4095. Appears the PDO did some creative re-wiring so I have a few questions. First, with the ignition off, no key in ignition; if I turn the headlights on, shouldn't the tail lights come on also? They don't. Next, when I step on the brake peddle while driving, the right turn signal indicator on the dash lights up..... Any thoughts?

Your parking light fuse is likely loose, or bad. remove the fuse (3rd fuse down on the right, in the fuse box) and replace it or test it. squeeze the fuse clamps a little to make sure they are contacting good and holding the fuse right.

The brakes go thru the turn signal switch, so you likely have a problem in the switch. might be time to pull it apart and clean it up. Clean all your bulbs and sockets as a precautionary thing.

Fuse box bath time. Remove the fuse box and strip it of all fuses. Soak it vinegar for a couple of minutes, rinse, blow dry, reinstall. Load with new fuses and then see what you have. Over time oxidation of the copper contacts build up causing circuits to look for other paths to ground.

I have seen this solve many gremlin like issues over the years and it costs nothing to do......

Dunk the box as is, wires and everything. I have seen cases where corrosion has crept down the wires inside the insulation so it's good to attack that too.

This really is one of the easiest PM things you can do to your Z that will solve a slew of "gremlins"........
