jmortensen Posted June 5, 2009 Share #13 Posted June 5, 2009 Hi Stephen:Yes - I knew. My reply was tongue-in-cheek. Agreed - the story that is emerging is even more odd... but some of the comments to this thread are twisted to say the least.... funny as heck.. but twisted...Tongue in WHAT?!? I hope he went out with a smile on his face. Kinda sounds like it...
DeMoore Posted June 5, 2009 Share #14 Posted June 5, 2009 Ummm...he was an actor...he only played a mystical kung fu master...Would be interesting to know what motivated the suicide...Bangkok is a very interesting city...all kinds of wierdness...Actually, they said that because of the kung fu series he got very into yoga and meditiation and all of that eastern stuff for life. He even did some yoga instructional videos, I think. His dad was an awesome actor, too.
sblake01 Posted June 5, 2009 Share #15 Posted June 5, 2009 well, he did have 221 other listings on imdb so it wasn't for lack of work.True but as Michael Jackson had his 'Thriller', Shatner had his 'Star Trek', and even Datsun had it's 240Z, you'd have to admit that if Kung Fu wasn't his flagship role, it would be very high on the list. nahurry Posted June 5, 2009 Share #20 Posted June 5, 2009 Police in Bangkok told reporters on Friday that David Carradine's body was found in his hotel room closet with a rope tied to his neck and genitals, and that his death may have been caused by accidental suffocation, not suicide as previously reported. lonetreesteve Posted June 6, 2009 Share #22 Posted June 6, 2009 I bet He would have gotten a kick out of this thread after being in one of my highschool favorites, Death Race 2000...WillYeah, I remember that movie also, Will. I was too young to drive, but my brother and a couple of the neighborhood kids would ride our bikes about a mile away to watch movies playing at a nearby drive-in. I swear that drive-in must have played Death Race 2000 every night for 2 or 3 weeks straight. We could only watch from the top of a hill and couldn't hear anything, but nonetheless, we all kind of liked it. Maybe someday I'll go rent the DVD so I can actually see and hear the movie over thirty year later. A very strange movie, which was nothing new for David Carradine. =Enigma= Posted June 6, 2009 Share #24 Posted June 6, 2009 (edited) It's called 'Autoerotic Asphyxiation' and death from it's practice is not uncommon. That isn't something you would normally do my yourself is it? And if so, why would you do it in the closet? Sounds like his "partner" let it go too far and stashed his body in the closet.I believe his most recent gig may have been Wild West Tech, aside from whatever he was working on in Thailand.
