Posted June 7, 200915 yr comment_285965 I just got back from working several weeks in Brisbane, Australia. Here in the Houston area I rarely see a 240Z on the street. Last Sunday I took a couple of hours off work and went to the Coot-Tha Classic Car Hill Climb. On my way there, via a 15 minute cab ride, I spotted three 240Zs parked on the street and they all looked in great shape.Once I got to the hill climb event, I got to watch 3 different 240Zs participate in the event. They not only held their own, but one was in the top ten while even competing against indy style cars. Great to see the 240Zs so well represented; they appear to have a great appreciation for Zs in Australia. It still feels strange to be in a place where they drive on the different side of the road, must be very very careful when jaywalking.Jack T Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/32123-240zs-australia/ Share on other sites
June 7, 200915 yr comment_285981 Both the 240z & 260z 2 seater are well represented in club motorsport in Australia. We have around 16 - 20 cars regularly competing in a 4 round super sprint series at Morgan Park Raceway - Warwick Queensland. Also at least 8 -10 are regularly seen at various Tarmac Rallies around the country (Targa Tasmania, Classic Adelaide etc.)The Brisbane/Queensland Z Car club has approx. 65 -70 members mainly 240z/260z's.You were lucky to see the Hillclimb - first year it has been run since the 1920/1930's!Regards Zed74 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/32123-240zs-australia/#findComment-285981 Share on other sites
June 7, 200915 yr comment_285982 There is a very active level of club level motorsport with Zeds here in Western Australia as well as a few very quick ones (unfortunately mine is not one of the quick ones!). Recently 2 Zeds from Western Australia made the long treck across the country to Queensland for the Datsun Nationals. The photos are of a line up on the dummy grid for a timed regularity at Waneroo raceway and from the annual Round the Houses at Albany, where the centre of a rural town is turned into a race track!
