So do the 260's or 280's front frames hold up better or still the same amount of rust take them to the grave?

I think it really depends on where the car has been rather than whether it's a 240-260-280. Rust is rust. There all over 30 years old.

Agreed. In your part of the country, any older Z will rust badly if it has been driven in the winter.

so then where should i be looking for a replacement and whats a semi running Z run for 74 and down with little to no rust

West of the Rockies. Places without road salt. Or anywhere where you can find a car that has been garaged its entire life and not driven in Winter.

I don;t mind road trips for good deals I picked up my 86 corolla GTS hatch in Washington and my 88 mr2 s/c in south TX!
