Thanks for that one, Mike! Not only does that remind me of how old I am but from that video I was able to find "Little GTO" by Ronnie and the Daytonas which, for selfish reasons, I find more interesting.:devious:

Not only do I remember watching that video "live" on TV, I actually owned one of those nifty little Honda 50 cc bikes in 1971 when I lived in the Phillippines. I can hardly wait for the Hondells to make their comeback tour. First Gear, It's Alright!

Ok as the resident Beach Boys nut on this board, that song may have been a hit for the Hondells, but it was written by Brian Wilson and originally recorded by the 'Boys on their 1964 album "All Summer Long"...much better version too.

Based on the cover art on the album, the song is likely about Honda's CL72 / CL77 Scrambler (of which one I own) - there are a few pics of the Beach Boys riding pretty much the same model I have (although mine is a '67).

The Beach Boys did better backgound vocals as well as a better musical arrangement. The Beach Boys also did a cover of Ronny and the Daytonas "Little GTO".

Ah yes, I've seen that many times! I am all about humor, but unfortunately for the Beach Boys, they come across more like the Monkees than the Beatles here...still, it's a great song and based on the Hondells results, would have been another top 40 hit for the Beach Boys had they released it.
