jrecee Posted June 21, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 21, 2009 He's got a link to a bunch more pictures too. No bids, reserve price, buy it now of $6,000. Looks pretty nice. I'm not in the market yet but I'm trying to get a good grasp on z values while I save up the money.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1978-DATSUN-280Z-SUPER-CLEAN-ORIGNAL-88K-MILES-MINT_W0QQitemZ260432160643QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item3ca2f76783&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A12|39%3A1|72%3A317|240%3A1318
bigoak Posted June 21, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 21, 2009 Looks like a nice car...Watch out #1...None of the pictures show the rust prone areas...bottom of the floors, battery tray or the frame rails...Without those it's tough to affix a value/price. If they are perfect the BIN is probably in the ball park...if not, it's way overvalued...
280~Master Posted June 21, 2009 Share #3 Posted June 21, 2009 Depending on rust and the inside it seems like a good deal. I would strongly suggest you go and look at in person and get a true feel for the car. I always recomend you look and drive a car before buying it. We have had a few members buy over the net/ebay and not get what they tought they were getting. Bigoak was thinking the same as me but beat me to the punch.. Carl Beck Posted June 22, 2009 Share #7 Posted June 22, 2009 Take $6K in cash with you, and go look the car over carefully. If it is as the owner describes, its worth $6K. Come on folks, a 78 with 88K original miles... as rust free as they come back East... $6K is priced to sell!! Heck, a basic paint job is $5K...If it is not exactly as the owner describes - then simply enjoy to trip to/from the cars location. Stay around the Chattahoochee National Forest, or Sumter National Forest over the weekend..FWIW,Carl B.
jrecee Posted June 26, 2009 Author Share #8 Posted June 26, 2009 Haha been watching this auction and checked out the guy's video of the car on ebay. Of course his other video is of shooting someone in the back with a potato gun. . . That'd make me weary of buying from him .
Carl Beck Posted June 26, 2009 Share #9 Posted June 26, 2009 Looking only at the video - still looks like $6K is cheap...If you just wanted a nice Z to drive and enjoy.. it would be hard to do better back East. Looks like the car was originally silver -and the engine bay looks clean at least..Of course you would have to see the quality of the paint job in person..FWIW,Carl B.
