June 29, 200915 yr comment_288234 Odd to see a 72 918 car with a Black rather than White interior..This car was on E-Bay 10 Oct 08 -with a BIN of $21KAll depends on the quality of the repaint... Shame it needed to be repainted with only 31K miles...FWIW,Carl B. June 29, 200915 yr comment_288236 I have been watching this one too. Overall it looks very nice, but there appears to be quite a bit of orange overspray on the end of the dash and weatherstrip on the passengers side and the rear valance looks a little tweaked. -Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/32378-clean-72-with-31k-miles-up-for-auction/#findComment-288236 Share on other sites

You would think that if someone is asking that kind of money for the car, they would at least clean up the over spray. June 29, 200915 yr comment_288241 I don't think it's overspray. I think that's a reflection of the orange from the leading edge of the open door. I've seen that effect when taking pictures of my red car. If you look close, you can even see a hint of it on the beveled edge of the glovebox door. I've seen that effect when taking pictures of my red car. If you look close, you can even see a hint of it on the beveled edge of the glovebox door. Now that you mention it Arne, I think you are probably right. I have noticed that in pictures of other cars before. Overall it looks like a very nice car and similar to my 72 that just turned 40,000 miles. It would be interesting to see what it got bid up to if they had open bidding rather than just the BIN/best offers.-Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/32378-clean-72-with-31k-miles-up-for-auction/#findComment-288245 Share on other sites
June 29, 200915 yr comment_288268 I was curious about the overspray as well. I think it is a reflection. Saw the same thing when I bought my 510 and it was just a reflection.
