Clean '72 with 31k Miles Up for Auction

Recommended Posts

Odd to see a 72 918 car with a Black rather than White interior..

This car was on E-Bay 10 Oct 08 -with a BIN of $21K

All depends on the quality of the repaint... Shame it needed to be repainted with only 31K miles...

FWIW,

Carl B.

I have been watching this one too. Overall it looks very nice, but there appears to be quite a bit of orange overspray on the end of the dash and weatherstrip on the passengers side and the rear valance looks a little tweaked.

Wow, you're right Mike.....I noticed the rear valance but not the over spray. You would think that if someone is asking that kind of money for the car, they would at least clean up the over spray.

I don't think it's overspray. I think that's a reflection of the orange from the leading edge of the open door. I've seen that effect when taking pictures of my red car. If you look close, you can even see a hint of it on the beveled edge of the glovebox door.

Now that you mention it Arne, I think you are probably right. I have noticed that in pictures of other cars before. Overall it looks like a very nice car and similar to my 72 that just turned 40,000 miles. It would be interesting to see what it got bid up to if they had open bidding rather than just the BIN/best offers.
