any idea how much power a stock rear end from a 77' 280 will handle?

I haven't heard, nor seen, any comments from the 350-into-Z's crowd about changing the rear end, nor anything from the turbo crowd. Can I assume then that the stock rear end will handle 350 to 400 hp and comperable torque output?

If not, any suggestions?

The R-200 rear in the 280 should hold up to a V-8, within limits. The weakest link will probably be the axle flanges and the sub axles along with the U-joints.
