OK I'm painting the car blue a 1972 240z. I was wondering how the car looked if i painted the taillight covers the same color.I was wondering if anyone has a picture of a z with these painted.

I think the original flat gray/silver metalic is great on some color cars, and semigloss black works on almost all colors. Then I don't care for lip glossed tires either, nice and black with a low sheen.

Satin black looks great. Easy to do with a good quality spray can. Take them off the car, give them a light sanding and get them nice and warm in the sun. Spray away.

Don't forget to tape up the stainless trim!

I've seen all sorts of darker and/or contrasting finishes that look good. But the design of the panels seems to work best with contrast, not body color.

My opinion only, of course. No offense meant for those of you who like them body color.

It is on my list Arne. I am growing to dislike this more and more every time I look at it. It just looks wrong. I have a good painter who will do the work at a decent price, $500 for tail, lower right and left sides, and spook. And I have Les's rattlecan paint as well on my shelf. Hopefully I'll get her done this year.
