Posted July 15, 200915 yr comment_289587 I have replaced the injectors (new from Napa) as well as the injector relay (new from napa) that is located on the passenger side by the battery. I checked my wires with a noid light and I am not getting any juice to the injectors ( 3 and 6). I also replaced the ECU (eBay used). I am trying to track down the issue so I checked the injector wires as far as I can trace them into the harness and they are dead the whole way. I have also replaced the Thermotime and the temp sensor( new from Napa). Which made the car run really well except the 2 dead cylinders. I really appreciate your input and hope you can help me get my beloved Z back on the road. She was my first car when I turned 16 ( I'm 25). I have not driven her for about 4 years due to this issue. With Love and Light, Aaron Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/32530-1978-280z-dead-on-s-3-and-6/ Share on other sites

July 15, 200915 yr comment_289614 Do you have the factory service manual for the car? I have one for my '76, and it details many tests you can do to troubleshoot problems with the EFI system. A good number of things can be found by doing continuity tests with a multimeter on your ECU connector. You should be able to find the FSM in PDF format on the internet for free.I don't know if the EFI from the '78 and the '76 are identical, but I checked my diagrams and the #3 and #6 injectors are connected to different dropping resistors, so likely there is no problem there. I would definitely check the connection to the ECU.Good luck. July 15, 200915 yr comment_289618 I can't recall exactly where I found mine, but it was a free download, and not hard to find using Google.I'm no expert, but you may have two bad pin connections at your ECU. July 15, 200915 yr comment_289633 So far, a skip shift eliminator, a drop in K & N filter, and a lightweight SLP Skid Plate. I've only had it since June 19th. July 16, 200915 yr Author comment_289694 I can certainly understand that. The GTO is my wife's car and she has to have the sound of the cam to prove how tough she is in front of all the guys. I am still looking for input on the car if anyone has experienced this. July 16, 200915 yr comment_289697 At 59 years old, my need to prove anything to anyone, especially how tough I am, is years behind me. Not saying that I wasn't of that frame of mind when I was in my 20s-30s. Can't give you much input about that now but I do understand it and have experienced it. Here's a couple shots of mine: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/32530-1978-280z-dead-on-s-3-and-6/#findComment-289697 Share on other sites
