I have tried unplugging the switch and it made no difference.

I have to be out of town for work until Thursday, I'll look forward to finding out the next step.

If you connect the battery but don't turn on the key or start the car, does the radio, blower and other electrical stuff work? (Key off, or ignition switch disconnected.)

I just got back today, and yes everything works with the key off, I also noticed ,for the first time that the park lights stay on even when turned off, and the headlights won't come on at all ( but they used to). The park lights are connected some way thru the fuse for the fuel pump, but the radio is thru the correct fuse Also, the radiator cooling fan comes on for a short period when the battery is connected

I've been traceing wiring and checking grounds all weekend, and I'm pleased to report it will now start and cut off.

I've still got some electrical issues (headlights don't work, park lights come on with the key, signal lights on the right side don't work, and now the A/C fan doesn't work), I think it will just take some time to work thru.
