yor5150 Posted July 19, 2009 Share #1 Posted July 19, 2009 I've searched for the answer to this question and will continue to search but in case someone wants to help... here's the question. I have the civic fan installed. Now it's time to connect the wires. The civic wiring has a plug with two wires, blue with a black stripe and blue with a white stripe. Which one should I splice to the red 240Z fan motor wire and which one should I splice into the black 240Z fan motor wire? Looking at the civic fan plug, there are two + indicators at the plug which is confusing. The connectors are flat and at a right angle to one another. I would think that the civic blue/black would connect to the black or negative 240Z wire and the civic blue/white would connect to the red or positive 240Z wire. Just want to make sure. Any help would be appreciated.
yor5150 Posted July 19, 2009 Author Share #2 Posted July 19, 2009 And I just had my eyes checked... I noticed from a pic on eBay that what looked to be a "-" sign above the "+" sign on the civic fan motor jack seems to be a rotation indicator. Zs-ondabrain Posted July 19, 2009 Share #3 Posted July 19, 2009 If I remember correctly, Connect the red to the Blue/White, for a counter clockwise rotation. Look at the 2 (+) symbles on the motor plug. The blue/white wire as a (+) will turn it CCW and blow air towards the heater core assembly.
adamr Posted July 21, 2009 Share #4 Posted July 21, 2009 Great upgrade. I'm very happy with mine. You won't do damage if you have it wired wrong. Simply switch the wiring if it doesn't seem right, and you'll know immediately. Enjoy. It made a huge difference for me.adamr
