July 24, 200915 yr comment_290324 In the states the 260Z was only available in 1974 and there was an "early" model and a "late" model. This is the "early" model with bumpers similar to the 1973 240Z. The late model had the larger bumpers similar to the 280Z. The bumper "towel bars" in this example are aftermarket. You know , every time I see pics with those bars , my brain tells me that I see them often , yet not on a car in this city ........ '' towel bars '' solves yet another mystery , and I can stop renting space in my head over this . Thanks Mike ! July 24, 200915 yr comment_290325 looks great Ace! It's good to see another 260 owner, check out my photos, my car is almost as good as yours on the outside, but my interior needs major work, and the 35 year old pint still holding up. July 24, 200915 yr comment_290342 Looks like a great find. Nothing wrong with a 260. They got a bad rep because of the garbage carbs the emission police mandated. I have a vary late '73 and my consule looks like yours , only I dont have the cup holders. I changed my bumpers for 240s . I think you will be vary satisfied with your find . Looks like a great one. I agree about the SUs being a improvement. Welcome to our little group. July 25, 200915 yr comment_290343 Yeah no problem with a 260. I have an E74 and other than the bumpers sticking out further I like it just as much as the other. Nice find and enjoy the ride.Robert Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/32618-i-caved-in-and-got-a-260z/?&page=2#findComment-290343 Share on other sites
July 25, 200915 yr comment_290386 Looks good! I have the webers on my 72, and I will not switch them back until they start acting up and I have the time to get a good set of orginals with total rebuild. Great place to start with, you should have a lot of fun with that car. When I emptied mine out it had the "towel bars" with it, never knew what they were called! Enjoy!
