New fenders?

Arne' date=' looking at the hi-res pics of those fenders reveals a pretty nasty crease at the top of the left fender where it meets the cowl and door.[/quote']Yes, I see it. But if you are under the impression that brand new fenders will be absolutely perfect and need no work, you're in for a rather unpleasant surprise.

I put a couple of hours into both of the new fenders on my 70. Little stuff that just happens through handling. Yes, the new fenders are just as light weight metal as the originals. In my case the bottom three inches were there on the new ones. I do have a new left one here but it was tweaked in shipping and replaced by the dealer. The inspections doors do not fit as nicely as the originals. They still look good just do not latch like the first set.

I was under that impression somewhat. I guess I assumed they might need a light skim coat but would generally be ready to go. Perhaps I should just bite the bullet and finish stripping mine then see where they are at.

Jim,

Thanks, that answers most of my questions.

Appreciate the help all.
