Adam nailed it. Enjoy the car and make it safe. I drove my Z ugly for almost 2 yrs , deciding weather or not I was going to redo it. She had so many dents and rusty floors. But the rest is history . I am glad I did spend the seat time before starting to make it nice. I took just over 2 1/2 yrs before I was able to take her out on the road . During the time working on the redo. I got a little discouraged that it was taking this long and the amount of effort involved. I did all my own work. With some help from my friend Escanlon. Had I just jumped right in and started the total redo I don't know if she would have turned out like she did.

Sounds like my discovery that my serial # didn't indicate a 5-speed (i.e. HLS30F). At first I fretted that it wasn't original, but then I reminded myself how much I wanted to swap my 4-speed for a 5-speed on my prior Z. I like my 5-speed. :)

Haha, reading this post reminds me of my "great deal" from (nect month) 2 years ago. My unrestored, unmolested car. Turned out it had a head off a 280ZX on it. It had so many other issues, that almost seemed anti-climatic.

Lick your wounds like I did and just enjoy the car. :)

Glad you changed your mind, all projects will at one time or another have up and down moments and usually an engine change as well, so you just have something new on the list. Enjoy the car and the fun of the build with all the ups and downs it brings.

I want to take a moment to commend all you good folks who took the

time to encourage Chris and help him through his perceived dilemma.

That's one of the things I've always enjoyed most about being in the

240-Z fraternity, how the vast majority try hard to be helpful and en-

couraging rather than disparaging and negative.

Chris, trust a guy who's been around Z's forever:

YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE!!!!1

All Z Best,..............Rick
