Posted July 30, 200915 yr comment_290724 I'm only looking at Z cars right now, but the possibilities of the car are amazing to me. I'm curious to know what the weight of the L28 engine is when it's bolted into the car. I've got a few possible ideas, but I want to make sure that if I were to change the balance of the car, it's for the better. I've only got time on my hands, but I like to be able to put my ideas on paper sometimes. August 1, 200915 yr Author comment_290878 Thanks for the head ups. I've been doing some looking over there. All of my non-V8 ideas have been tried, or contemplated, but none seemed to have been better than either sticking to the L28 of going with a V8. Does the Tidewater Z club have any regular meets? August 2, 200915 yr comment_290962 It all depends what you want to do with the car. If you are going to do track days with it, the SR20DET or S2000 swaps will work, but if you want street power, a turbo L28 or V8 swap might be a better choice. Anything and everything will fit, so it just depends what you want. August 3, 200915 yr comment_291017 I was considering an SR swap in the Z until we weighed my dad's car. 50/50. That being the case, I worry the SR would throw the balance off and the car may not even handle as well as with the L series. I can't go on hybrid b/c they are too technical for me I would get flamed left and right Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/32679-new-in-va/#findComment-291017 Share on other sites
August 3, 200915 yr comment_291020 I spend a lot of time reading the archives at hybrid, but I never post there. I am an auto engineer and they are still too technical for me. :stupid: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/32679-new-in-va/#findComment-291020 Share on other sites
