Sounds great! This will be the first really long drive in my Datsun and I am confident it will make it with little fanfare.

Do people usually take a compliment of car wash supplies to scrape the bugs off the car or is that not usually a big deal? I've never had a car in a show before so I'm not sure of the normal practice.

The condition of your car is up to you. When this was in Long Beach it was foggy and damp in the morning which means your car got wet no matter what and needed to be wiped down as it warmed up in the morning.

I would suggest that you want your car in it's best condition, there are a number of trailer queens that make an appearance for this show.

Bugs are optional.

Thanks, while my car is in good condition, especially the interior, the paint is far from what I would consider show quality. It's not that it's bad, but it's certainly no 2 stage paint with 8 coats of clear like I've seen around here at local meets.

It'll get a good wash and wax before the trip down, and I'll bring the Maguires touchup. Beyond that, the giant central valley moths, butterflies, and grasshoppers will add character to a 400 mile journey

Gosh I'm terrible with names... I just replied to your pic thread in the JNC forum and remembered someone had posted here before the show :stupid:

As Ron got to hear about, my car didn't quite make it. I'm glad one of my friends had AAA Premium, I nearly had to pay for a 120 mile tow

Ron, my friends were still talking about your race videos at dinner. They thought the Roadster videos were pretty awesome. Btw, your car smelled great when you started it!

Thanks Andy, It was nice to meet you as well...Glad you had a solution to get your car back to Nor Cal, but sorry it did not make it down for JCCS. There is always next year.

Your friends with the Celica were great, and I like their car. They need to really race it. There are very few vintage Toy's out racing with us, we need more of them out there.

Glad you liked the video's, they are a unique perspective.

There is nothing like the smell of 110 octane Leaded fuel...To me it means that it is time to go racing!!

Take care.

Ron
