Hey, I was just wondering if someone could give me some links or some info on the 240Z. I need info about swaps and stuff. After I get out of college I plan on getting a 240Z (I'll prolly buy it during college and let it sti for a while). Then I am gonna do some engine swap, at this point I am leaning toward some sort of Domestic engine something in the V8s, would a TT C5 motor fit in there? I know it seems kinda far fethced but it will be a long project.

In about a year I should have my first swap car done, an SR20DET in a 240SX, but that will be my AutoX car. I want a quick straight line car, and I love the 240Z body style. So if someone could give me some info on 240Zs and swaps, or maybe some owner sites (I have heard and seen Darius 240Z, don't know anything about it though).

How much will it cost to get a 240Z, no engine needed, but a good exterior, I'll prolly rebuild the interior.

If you are looking for a car for a drag racing venue , look for a '70 or '71 . They are the lightest , as far as the source I think you will just need to look around . Check with the bone yards and auctions . If all you want is a off street drag car , most any shell will do if the sheet metal is in tact , to be able to withstand the stresses of that use you will most likely will want to replace the body pan and install a tube frame like the "funny cars" .

I take it your talking about the C5 engine, I am used to referring to the 240sx as 240, so I was confused for a bit.

But hey, I am prolly going to swap in some V8 engine in there, I don't know about the TT anymore though, I kinda want one N/A car, one turbo carm and one daily driver/beater/family car.

What V8 engines do you guys recommend, that will get me a lot of HP. I am ruling fords out, still got my eyes on that vette engine just not TT, but it would be nice to get some links to other people with V8 240Zs

If you do decide on a V8 swap or an unorthodox engine in a 240z then as Ivan suggested the hybridz web site has a ton of information.

If you do decide on a V8 swap then you need to also check this site out www.jagsthatrun.com . They also offer a book on the 240Z V8 swap which i have heard is a bible for this type of conversion, they also supply all the bits you'll need.

Good luck.

man you guys are so helpful and nice compared to most other car forums who flame every newbie that passes through.

I will prolly order that book sometime soon, and read it front to back.

What engines have been put in 240Zs, I have seen small block 327s, RB26s, and others that I don't know what they are, I am not too educated on domestic motors. Is there any one domestic site that covers domestic engines, or would it be better to just visit domestic forums and ask questions. I am prolly gonna go visit a chevy forum, since i will most likely put some chevy in the datsun.
