It was only when he stood back that he started to comprehend what his labor of the last couple hours had amounted to. "oh !@#$," he thought to himself, "what have i done". August 5, 200915 yr comment_291241 You'll be able to get this back together just by looking at some of the pictures on the recent SU carb threads. Question is why did you take them off? If it's because they weren't working right, you may want to consider shipping them off to ztherapy for a good cleaning/rebuilding/adjusting. Then, all you will have to do is bolt them back on Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/32748-i-could-hear-somebody-narrating-my-life/#findComment-291241 Share on other sites
August 5, 200915 yr comment_291247 Is the goal to get the pieces back on, or back on and running well? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/32748-i-could-hear-somebody-narrating-my-life/#findComment-291247 Share on other sites

August 6, 200915 yr Author comment_291283 Well, at the moment i have some floor pans on order and i have a flat tire... so the car isnt going anywhere anytime soon. So i figured it would be a good time to clean up the engine bay a bit.I just want to replace gaskets and polish everything up a bit. I had already done the balance tube as you can see in the picture, it used to look just like all the other pieces.ive redone all the rubber fuel lines, and i guess while ive got it all undone i could do the coolant lines as well. I dont think i'll have too much trouble with it, just looks a little daunting to someone who has never worked like this on a car before. But i know weve got a crack team here that could put a Z on the moon if we wanted to :-D Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/32748-i-could-hear-somebody-narrating-my-life/#findComment-291283 Share on other sites
August 6, 200915 yr comment_291288 Nothing a good torque wrench and synchro meter can't fix If you took it apart, you can get it back together. Just be glad there's like 2 vacuum lines The factory manual is always a good resource in times like this Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/32748-i-could-hear-somebody-narrating-my-life/#findComment-291288 Share on other sites

August 6, 200915 yr Author comment_291291 Ah, you'll be fine. The balance tube looks great, btw. Thanks, i thought it looked a little silly with only the balance tube and valve cover polished up. Plus ive seen some really reeeeeeally clean engines members have posted pics of here and i was getting jealous.
