Suddently, after 27 years, he decided not tu run. Excesive fuel passes thru the exhaust pipe. Sometimes one cylinder or two runs for a few seconds and then stops. Huge clowd of fuel vapor behind the car. If it was carburated, I would tell the floater got stuck, but its an injected. Sparks are OK and the spark plugs are all wet.

Well, it's not at all a subtle problem. It's obviously a major malfunction in your fuel delivery.

Look into the mouth of the air flow meter. Does the flap close, or is it stuck wide open?

Do the injectors go "tick tick tick," or are they held wide open? Perhaps the fuel injection computer is malfunctioning?

Is your fuel pressure extraordinarily high?
