Early Steering Knuckles - Modified/Shortened

Recommended Posts

Today I was bead blasting a pile of suspension pieces & small parts and came across these modified early steering knuckles. The smaller ball joints were used prior to serial number HLS30-7985 according to the bulletin TS-70-60. So, I figure these were modified early on in 1970, or else who ever did it would have used a later knuckle to match up with the corresponding ball joint with the larger ball stud diameter. Now to figure out what to do with them. Do you think they would be OK to use if they were machined to allow the use of the later ball joints? They sure seem to have been well done. Here's a few pics with them next to some later stock ones.
