Tyrone Posted August 14, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 14, 2009 I know Skylines are not available here in the US, but I have managed to grab a KAAZ 2 way LSD. Does anyone know if the internal R32 R200 Diff would fit in a 280Z R200?
five&dime Posted August 14, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 14, 2009 (edited) I have a friend that installed the Z32 R200 diff (I believe they are the same) He just had to make a custom mount and he used 944 c/v's with custom made hub brackets.I don't know about swapping internals but I seriously doubt it. Mr Camouflage Posted August 14, 2009 Share #3 Posted August 14, 2009 If your talking about swapping the lsd diff center over then yes I believe it will fit. You'll have to use the crown wheel from the longnose R200 on the kaaz lsd. Finding half shafts with the correct splines may be an issue. I know people have swapped short nose skyline LSD centers into long nose housings before. Other issue you may have is the crown wheel bolt hole diameter difference, which can be overcome with the use of spacers.Your better off asking this sort of question on an Aussie forum, as we have heaps of skylines which makes this type of swap alot more common than the USA.Here's some homework reading for you (page 2 is where it starts to get interesting): http://www.ozdat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4034
jmortensen Posted August 14, 2009 Share #4 Posted August 14, 2009 Search on Hybrid Z. I think there was a guy who did a KAAZ LSD swap and the groove for the retainer circlip wasn't in the right spot. That's not an insurmountable problem, a quick bit of machine work should be the fix...
