Posted August 22, 200915 yr comment_292540 Hi, I was trying to hunt down a brake fluid leak and noticed that the bottom of the brake booster is rusted and damp. The moisture smelled like brake fluid. A search on this site had me thinking that the master cylinder could be leaking fluid to the bottom of the booster thus removing the paint and causing the rust. I removed both the master cylinder (to replace) and booster (to clean and repaint). When I removed the booster I noticed there was really dirty brake fluid INSIDE the booster. Can I empty the fluid and reuse the booster or am I looking at having to replace it? Are these pretty straight forward to rebuild? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Sari Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/32919-brake-fluid-in-brake-booster-74-260z/ Share on other sites
